Man Drives Around Barricades and Into Giant Hole on Chillicothe Street

A motorist drove around some barricades and straight into a huge hole in the 700 block of Chillicothe Street just after 9:30 pm.

The man told police he thought the road was open, and he drove around the large dump truck blocking the street and into the large hole in the road.

Officers noted that the “road work ahead” sign had been knocked flat, and a traffic cone moved. They were unsure who moved the sign.

The man was not injured, but his vehicle was damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

Police were back on the scene at 3 am for another report of a vehicle stuck in a hole. This time there was nobody in the car.

Police arranged to have the vehicle towed from the scene. They attempted to contact the registered owner, but didn’t have any luck.
