A driver managed to turn a noise citation into a trip to jail after an officer noticed a vehicle with an extremely loud exhaust. The deputy turned on the lights to pull the driver over, but he didn’t stop. Instead, he sped up and kept going before an officer followed him into the parking lot of the Lawrence Village Apartments.

He pulled into a parking space, hopped out of the car, and demanded to know why the officer had stopped him. The officer told him to get back in the car, but he refused and began to argue with the officer when they explained the reason for the stop. He then took off running.

The officer tackled him, but the driver kept struggling. The deputy threatened to deploy their dog to stop him, but he finally allowed the officer to cuff him.

Deputies discovered he had two underage girls in the car. They said the driver had attempted to hide alcohol and had refused to stop and let them get out of the car.

Officers charged the driver, Johnathan Harris, Jr., with two counts of child endangering, fleeing and eluding, and resisting arrest. They also took the driver to a sobriety test with the Ohio State Patrol. Officers released both female passengers to their parents.
