Officers headed to Kenny’s Convenient Mart on St. Rt. 139 after an employee reported threats from an out-of-control customer.
The employee said a man came into the store and wanted to know if the Swisher Sweets he planned to purchase were tight or loose wraps. When the clerk didn’t know, he became agitated and cursed at her.
He later returned with a friend and bought some V8 and demanded to know why she didn’t ask for his friend’s ID. The man told the clerk he was friends with the owner and would have her fired. He left, then returned and told her he was going to have her fried and that he should shoot her.
The clerk became angry, chased after the man, and told him, “If you shoot me, you better kill me” and the two got into a scuffle. She told the man if he came back, she’d deck him.
Officers advised her that was not the best solution and that she should contact them if the man returned.
