What started as a routine tax return has turned into an ongoing problem for employees at a Portsmouth tax office.
Police were called to the H&R Block on Scioto Trail after workers reported a man repeatedly coming in and causing a scene. According to employees, the man had his taxes done there—and didn’t like the outcome.
Instead of accepting it, they say he’s been showing up at random times demanding to see the employee who prepared his return. Each visit has gotten more aggressive. At one point, he reportedly threw his driver’s license across the counter. Another time, he showed up right at closing and went off on the employee trying to lock up for the night.
Workers told officers they’re now genuinely afraid of what he might do next.
Police advised employees to call immediately if he returns so he can be formally trespassed from the property—meaning if he comes back after that, he could be arrested.
