A deputy making a welfare check discovered animals in distress at a residence on St. Rt. 73
Around 10:30 a.m., an officer tried to contact a man after his concerned employer and family members said they hadn’t been able to reach him for weeks.
When a deputy arrived at the home, it didn’t seem as if anyone was home. However, there were around 9 malnourished, dirty cats outside and a dog chained up with no sign of food or water.
Dispatch attempted to contact a humane agent to check on the animals, but the humane agent was busy and unable to go to the scene. Dispatch said they would call again the next day.
