Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a domestic situation early Tuesday morning. A woman contacted them to report her husband kept driving by and throwing things at her and her children.

When an officer attempted to locate the man to serve a protection order, he tried to hit the cruiser with his van before taking off. When police caught up with the man, he took off running again. However, an officer was able to apprehend the man and serve the protection order. The officer noted the man was intoxicated.

They searched for the van he was driving and found it in a nearby parking lot. Deputies contacted OSP to handle the traffic portion of the incident. The man returned to the home about 40 minutes later but left before officers arrived.

Later that evening, officers were back at the home, and the man violated the protection order by calling the woman in the presence of an officer.

Deputies also dealt with another case of a man violating a protection order just after 8 p.m. Again, the victim said a man she had a TPO against repeatedly tried to contact her. Officers checked his residence and his workplace, but could not locate him.
