Man Indicted on 3 Rape Charges Involving 9-Year-Old

Man indicted on child rape

A Scioto County grand jury has indicted a Chillicothe man on three counts of rape involving a 9-year-old child, along with kidnapping and other felony charges.

Aaron Stanley, 40, was indicted on six counts:

The indictment alleges the offenses happened in Scioto County and involved a child who was 9 years old at the time.

SCDN is not identifying the child or publishing information that could identify the victim.

Kidnapping Charge Includes Sexual Motivation

According to the indictment, prosecutors allege Stanley restrained or removed the child for the purpose of sexual activity.

The kidnapping count also includes an allegation that the offense was committed with a sexual motivation.

The child-endangering charge alleges the child suffered serious physical harm.

The gross sexual imposition count accuses Stanley of having sexual contact with a child younger than 13.

The three rape counts likewise allege sexual conduct involving a child under 13, with the indictment specifically noting that the alleged victim was younger than 10.

Arrest Warrant Issued

Following the indictment, the court issued a warrant for Stanley’s arrest.

The case will move through Scioto County Common Pleas Court once Stanley is taken into custody and appears before a judge.

An indictment means the grand jury found probable cause for the charges to move forward. It is not a finding of guilt.

Stanley is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
