Man Jailed in Death of 7-year-old

The man that tragically a 7-year-old boy killed in an ATV accident is behind bars after being arrested for DUI in connection with the child’s death and this isn’t Jeremy Daniel Bryant’s first brush with the law.

The accident happened last Sunday while the boy and the man were riding a 4-wheeler in the area of Doc Singleton Park, across from Dry Run Elementary School.

Witnesses told 911 that the ATV struck a wire, causing both to be ejected. Deputies and EMS responded to the scene and transported both to SOMC for treatment.

A seasoned emergency worker told SCDN that this was the “most horrible accident” they had ever seen.

Both were transferred to Columbus hospitals for treatment. Sadly, 7-year-old Wyatt Moore, passed away from his injuries.

Jeremy Daniel Bryant, 42, of Portsmouth was arrested at the hospital on charges of involuntary manslaughter, child endangerment, and operating a vehicle under the influence, and probation violation.

However, this isn’t the first time Bryant’s been in trouble with the law. He was arrested back in 2018 for robbery and in 2015 for being a fugitive from justice.

Bond is set at $100,000.
