Police responded to King’s Daughters Hospital at 5:43 am after staff complained that a man was causing a disturbance and refused to leave the property.
Officers called for an ambulance to take him to SOMC, but medics advised them the guy had been kicked out of SOMC earlier in the evening.
Police determined that he was not in any real need of medical assistance and kept making irrational demands for law enforcement and EMS. They advised him to leave the property and not return.
Police were called to SOMC at 7:30 am for a report that a man was on their drive-up ramp in front of the ER and had refused to leave. They said he’d been there since last night. Security said they told him to leave, but he had stayed.
A doctor in the ER spoke to the man and said it was okay for him to stay until he got a ride back to Chicago.
