It’s bad enough if a stranger steals from you or, even worse, harms your beloved pet. But one area woman says she was victimized by a family member who committed an unthinkable act.
She contacted Lawrence County Dispatch to ask for an officer just after 10 a.m. Once a deputy arrived on the scene, she related a horrible story.
She said she saw her cousin parked in the road near her home holding something that he threw on the ground before driving off. When she went to investigate, she discovered her dog with its throat cut, quivering on the ground.
She also said the cousin stole her food stamp card and spent $120 at Walmart. Officers took information for a report.
