Man ODs at Common Pleas Court
Medics responded to Scioto County Common Pleas Court at 1:30 pm after a report of a man overdosing in the parking lot.
An ambulance was dispatched to the scene.
Overdose at the Tim Horton’s
Just before 6 pm, Portsmouth Police Officers responded to a report that a man had overdosed in a blue Chevy Cavalier at the Tim Horton’s on Chillicothe Street.
Officers took the man into custody and arranged to have his vehicle impounded and towed away. Police booked him into the Scioto County Jail.
Street Sleeper Catches 40 Winks at Burger King
A City employee spotted someone lying up against the wall of the Burger King on Gallia Street just after 9 am. The employee contacted Portsmouth Police.
When officers spoke with the man, he explained he was homeless and had nowhere to go. Officers advised him of his homeless shelter options.
Shots Reported on 12th Street
A concerned citizen contacted PPD just before 11 am to report she heard what sounded like two AR rifles going off near 12th and Chillicothe.
Nearby police units also reported hearing the noise. Officers investigated and determined it might have been a power hammer someone was using in a nearby construction project.
