Man Overdoses in Front of Kids and Other Weekend OD’s

Man Overdoses in Front of Kids

Officers dealt with multiple reports of overdoses over the weekend.

Just before 10 pm on Friday, a caller reported a woman had overdosed in a PMHA Thomas Avenue apartment and was not breathing. Bystanders were able to revive the woman before first responders, and she was left in the care of her father.

At 11 am on Saturday, officers headed to 17th Street PMHA apartment after a report that a woman had overdosed. Once again, someone administered Narcan before officers arrived, and the patient left the scene.

A woman contacted officers at 3:30 pm to report that a man had overdosed at a PMHA apartment on Boundary Street. When police arrived, they learned the man had recovered and walked away. The woman was upset that the man had overdosed in front of her children.

A worried mother contacted police after she said her son appeared to be on drugs. She said he usually used meth and heroin. Officers discovered the man had an open warrant and took him into custody.

At 7 pm, witnesses reported a woman overdosing on the porch of a McConnell Avenue home. The woman refused treatment.

Sunday evening, police responded to a report of a woman overdosing outside on 18th Street. However, by the time officers arrived, she had regained consciousness and gone inside her home.

Personnel at the SOMC Urgent Care on Kinneys Lane contacted officers after an overdose victim began to get aggressive with the staff. Police detained the woman and took information for a report.
