Man Passes Out in Needle-Filled Car on Grant Street

Just before 8 am, PPD responded to a report of a man passed out in a white car at Grand and Summit Streets.

Officers said the man was okay, but there were hypodermic syringes in plain view in the vehicle. He said he was homeless and just trying to sleep in his car. However, he did tell the police he wanted to go into drug treatment.

PPD tried to contact a local rehab center to get the man help, but no one answered the phone. So the officer impounded and disposed of the needles.
