Man Reports Disabled Neighbor For Having Guns

Gun Found In Hotel Room

Just after 8 pm, a Lucasville man contacted deputies to report his neighbor was firing rounds. He said the neighbor was disabled and not allowed to have weapons.

When officers got to the scene, they spoke to the neighbors who admitted they were firing weapons earlier in the day. However, they said they were target shooting in a safe manner. One neighbor was physically disabled and in a wheelchair.

Deputies spoke to the other neighbor and explained that nothing prevents disabled people from owning and using firearms as long as they do so safely.

Publisher’s Note: When people hear of the charge of “having weapons under disability,” that has nothing to do with their physical abilities. It means that due to their criminal history, their right to carry a firearm has been “disabled”.
