Man Robbed at Gunpoint on Grandview Avenue

A man was robbed at gunpoint on Grandview Avenue and officers were called in to assist after a man refused to return to a nursing home. We break down the Portsmouth Police Chief’s Daily Briefing.

Mom Says Man Won’t Give Her Baby

A  Mabert Road woman contacted police at 6 pm to say a man would not give her back her newborn baby. She said he was not the child’s father but does live at the home. 

Police said the argument was all verbal.

Grand Theft Auto

A 6th Street caller contacted police at 6:16 pm to report her vehicle stolen. 

She said she was warming up the 2012 Chrysler and someone took it.

Man Robbed at Gunpoint on Grandview

At 7 pm, a man contacted police to report two men robbed him at gunpoint on Grandview Avenue. 

He was in the alley near Sonora’s and two men in dark hoodies and sweatpants robbed him and ran off towards Mound Park. 

Police took information for a report. 

Suspicious Activity

At 7 pm, a caller reported a suspicious man hanging around the parking lot for the Central Church of Christ. 

An officer spoke with the man who did not have any ID on him. 

Man Refuses to Return to Nursing Home

Police were called to Waller Street when a man refused to return to a nursing home. A woman with medical power of attorney contacted officers just before 8 pm. 

She provided police with the proper paperwork and units followed them to a local nursing home. 

Dog Attack at Woodbine Apartments

Just after 10 pm, police responded to a report of a dog attack at Woodbine Apartments on Kendall. A man said a dog bit his son, but the son had left the scene. 

Police spoke with the animal’s owner, who put it up for the night. Police told the victim’s father to have him call them if he wanted to file a report.
