A man called 911 at 8 pm to report that an unwanted relative showed up at his house and made threats. He told officers his cousin had been banned from his house due to an open CPS case.
When he told the cousin to leave, the cousin told him he wanted him to die along with his sisters.
When officers located the cousin, he said he hadn’t done anything wrong and was only trying to feed dogs and cats at the home. He said the reporting party had screamed threats at him, pulled a gun, and fired shots as he was leaving.
When officers spoke to the reporting party, he said that he’d found the cousin out by the barn feeding the animals, but told him he was barred from the property. After the cousin threatened him, he called law enforcement, and tried to block him in until officers arrived.
He admitted he’d pulled a gun and tried to shoot out his cousin’s tires. Officers explained that you aren’t allowed to shoot at people unless you are threatened.
Police impounded his gun and collected shell casings. They then arrested the man and booked him into the Lawrence County Jail.
