Man Shot in Stomach on Dodds Road
Pike County 911 relayed a call requesting an ambulance on Dodds Road. The caller said a man had an accident while cleaning his gun.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a man had shot himself in the stomach in what appeared to be an accident.
SCDN first reported this incident as it was happening on our social media platform. The comments suggested the man was attempting to clean his gun. This would make the 2nd time in a month that a local person shot themselves while cleaning a gun.
Medic on the scene requested an air ambulance, and detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation. The man was transported to a Huntington area hospital via air ambulance.
