Police were alerted to a stabbing at the Royal Inn by Portsmouth Ambulance on Tuesday morning.
According to the initial reports, the man was able to make it to the lobby of the motel and request an ambulance. In his statement, before being transported to the hospital, he indicated that he had been stabbed in the head.
Police reported that the Ironton man was able to identify the suspect. According to the victim, he was stabbed by Yani White. Police believed White was still in the area. They spent some time attempting to locate the suspect.
White is no stranger to law enforcement. His criminal charges include nearly a dozen counts of assault, aggravated menacing, several probation violations, criminal damaging, and disorderly conduct.
Just before 1 p.m. on Tuesday, officers caught up with White. He was taken to the Scioto County Jail.
