Man Strips Down for Fight on Grant Street

Officers responded to an unusual call at Grant and Center Streets at 1:17 pm.

Witnesses reported a man took off his clothes and was attempting to start fights with people. When police got to the scene, they contacted the emergency treatment response team. 

Members of the team convinced the man to go with them for help. Officers noted the man was a member of AAA and made arrangements to have his vehicle towed.

Wanted Man Found Living in Shed

Officers investigating a report of a suspicious person living in a shed on Vinton Avenue discovered a wanted man. 

Just before 10:30 pm, a concerned citizen reported several people living in a shed and camper in the back of a home in the 2200 block of Vinton.

When officers arrived on the scene, they detained a man with an open warrant through the New Boston Police Department. 

New Boston officers responded to the scene and issued a summons to the man who was later released. 

Man Arrested for 38th Time 

Police arrested a Portsmouth man for the 38th time after a report of a suspicious person on Campbell Avenue  just after 8 pm. 

Witnesses said the man appeared to be on drugs. When police arrived on the scene, they discovered a man with an open warrant through Portsmouth Municipal Court for probation violation. Officers arrested him for disorderly conduct, drug paraphernalia, and probation violation. 

It was his third arrest this year and his ninth in the past two years.
