Man Strips Down to Clean at Alexandria House

Just after 9 pm on Friday, a caller told officers a man was repeatedly taking off his clothes in the third-floor hallway at Alexandria House Apartments.

When officers arrived at the scene, they spoke to a man who said he was simply cleaning. Police reported he was clothed and in his own apartment when they got there, but they suspected he had some cognitive issues. 

Police advised him to stay in his apartment and not bother anyone, and he promised he would.

Lincoln Street Neighbors Want Homeless Camp Cleared

A worried Lincoln Street resident contacted Portsmouth Police at 7 pm to ask for help with a homeless camp set up behind Gatti’s Pizza. She said the people living there were making a lot of noise and that she was worried about her child’s safety.

Officers spoke to a man camping there and advised him to leave the area. They gave him time to gather his belongings but warned him they would be back later to check. 

Man Busted for Meth After Shoplifting Report at Family Dollar

Just after 5 pm, officers responded to a report of a possible shoplifter at the Family Dollar on Gallia Street. 

When police arrived at the store, they found a man with a long history of arrests. Officers took him into custody for possession of meth. 

This was his 14th arrest. He was arrested back on September 30 fo
