Man Threatens to Kill Clerk Over Lottery Ticket

Some folks take their lottery tickets very seriously.

An employee of the Quick Stop on Gay Street contacted police just after 5 pm to report a customer who threatened to kill him over a lottery ticket.

The employee said the man came into the store to cash a winning lottery ticket, and the employee wasn’t able to cash the ticket at the time.

The customer told the clerk that he would wait for him outside after the store closed and kill him. The clerk said the suspect was a regular customer that they’ve never had an issue with in the past.

The employee wanted to bar the man from the property.

Officers also told the employee to call for an officer to stand by when he leaves work in case the man comes back.
