Man Transported to Columbus Hospital After Thomas Avenue Assault

Grand Theft Auto Leads To Chase

At 8 pm, a woman contacted police to report her black Dodge Avenger was stolen and she was following them. 

The caller advised they had traded vehicles but the car they were given did not have a valid registration. Police tried to find out who the vehicle with the fictitious registration belonged to but there was no answer. 

Suspicious Activity

A caller reported a man sitting on the white line by the side of the 5000 block of US 52 at 8:30 pm. Police could not locate him.

Cry For Help

A man contacted police at 9:20 to report a friend had expressed suicidal thoughts and he was unable to contact her. 

An ambulance transported her to the hospital for treatment. 

Vehicle Vandal Steals Child’s Lunchbox and Backpack

A woman contacted police at 10 pm to report someone busted out the window of her vehicle while she was eating at Giovanni’s on 11th Street. 

When officers arrived on the scene, the woman said her child’s floral backpack and lunchbox were missing from the back seat. Nothing else was taken.

Violent Assault By Ex Sends Man To Hospital

A violent assault by his girlfriend’s ex sent a man to a Columbus hospital. Just before midnight, a Wayne Hills resident notified police that her ex broke into her apartment and assaulted her boyfriend before fleeing in a white jeep with a red top.

An ambulance was dispatched for the injured man.

Police caught up with the suspect behind Bert’s Pet Center but he refused to speak without a lawyer present and refused to submit DNA.

Officers confirmed the woman had a protection order against her ex.

The injured boyfriend was transported to Grant Hospital for treatment. Police towed the suspect’s vehicle and took information for a report.

Robinson Avenue residents contacted police to report their vehicles were egged sometime overnight. Police took information for a report.
