A man taking a walk down his drinking memory lane caught a lucky break after a strange incident.
Just after 1 am, a caller reported a man in a pink shirt inside the Royal Lounge building.
When officers caught up with the man, he explained he found the door to the building unlocked and he decided to take a nostalgic walk through the bar. He also helped himself to some keepsakes from the property.
The property owner agreed not to press charges, officers retrieved his mementos, and police took him back to his friends and family at Frank N Steins.
Grand Theft Auto on Eck Court
A woman contacted police just before 2 pm to report her car had been stolen.
Officers detained a man and woman and then headed out to the Oasis Convenient Mart to look at some video.
Police then headed to Mabert Road, where they found the missing vehicle and took a man and a woman into custody.
Body Discovered on 8th Street
Just before 9 am on Saturday, Portsmouth Police received a report of a deceased person in an 8th Street residence.
Police and the coroner’s office responded to the scene, and the coroner took custody of the deceased’s remains.
Officers contacted the person’s next of kin and took information for a report.
