Man Who Wants To Go To Jail Gets His Wish

A troubled homeless man who frequently asks to go to jail had his wish granted after he assaulted someone at the Speedway on Gallia just after 12:30 am.

We told you yesterday how the mentally troubled man went into another gas station on Gallia over the weekend and refused to leave until an officer took him to jail. The officer persuaded the man to go to a rehab facility. However, just a few hours later, he left and was downtown, refusing to leave another local business.

When he showed up agitated and threatening to harm himself at a third business, an ambulance transported him to the hospital.

This time, he turned up at one his favorite spots – the Speedway on Gallia. He was arrested three times in one week for refusing to leave the property back in September.

This time, officers took him into custody for criminal trespass and assault. This was his 13th arrest in a year, his 4t arrest in the past month, and his 21st arrest overall.

Per the court, he was released back onto the streets on his own recognizance.
