MAN WITH GUN AT DEEMER’S SENDS EMPLOYEES LOCKING DOWN

Gun panic at Deemer's

A scary call had employees at Deemer’s Supermarket in Wheelersburg taking cover.

Deputies were sent to the store after a report of a man with a gun. Workers told dispatch they locked themselves inside for safety after seeing a man outside holding what they described as a long, silver-barreled firearm.

They also gave a description of the truck he was driving.

By the time Scioto County deputies arrived, the man had already left.

Officers believed they knew who he might be and put out a BOLO while heading to a nearby residence to track him down.

But once they got there, the story wasn’t so clear.

Deputies were met with conflicting accounts about what had actually happened, and in the end, no charges were filed.

👀 WHY CALLS LIKE THIS ARE TAKEN SERIOUSLY

Any report of a weapon triggers an immediate response.

In this case, it ended without arrests—but not before giving everyone inside that store a real reason to be concerned.
