Manhunt After Shots Fired at BP Customer

Scioto County Sheriff’s Officers investigated reports of shots fired at the BP on Gallia Street in Portsmouth. 

A man told officers he was pumping gas when someone shot at him. He spotted a man and a woman in black clothing who left the scene. 

A deputy caught up with a man in the woods behind the AutoZone and held him at gunpoint for a time. However, they learned he was not involved with that shots fired call. 

PPD officers spotted someone walking on the tracks towards the Young Street Viaduct and heading into some bushes.  

Officers took a man into custody and notified the railroad that the area was now safe for traffic. They transported the him to the police station for an interview. Police also reported that they impounded several items.
