Marilyn G. Galloway, 82, of Portsmouth, passed away Thursday April 27, 2023 at Concord Nursing Center. She was born February 3, 1941 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late James and Helen (Riley) Grimm.
She was a former Caregiver at Scioto Residential Services. She was an accomplished gardener and known for having a green thumb. She enjoyed listening to the police scanner, bowling, playing cards, board games and video games with her grandchildren. She enjoyed going fishing and bowling with her late husband Kenneth before he passed away.
Marilyn is survived by three sons, Kenneth Galloway Jr. and wife Judy of Regrish Addition, Jack Galloway and wife Irene of Marion, Buck Galloway and wife Billie of Sciotodale; a daughter, Rhonda Neff and husband Nathan of Woodstock, IL, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ray Galloway, two sons, Jim Galloway and Jeff Galloway who were twins, a brother, Jimmy Grimm and a sister, Orpha Mae Sammons.
The family wanted to give a special thanks to SOMC Hospice Center and Concord Nursing Home staff for their compassionate care and professionalism. Our family is eternally grateful.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Monday May 1, 2023 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Chris Neff officiating and a special prayer by B.J. Newman. Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 12 Noon to 2 PM prior to services at the funeral home.
