Marsha McGlone, a beloved member of the Lucasville community, passed away on October 30, 2024, at the age of 71. She was born on January 17, 1953, in Portsmouth, to James and Jewell (Nee Penix) Barnes. She grew up and spent her the rest of her life in Lucasville.

Marsha was known for her warm and generous spirit, always finding joy in simple pleasures like sewing, baking, gardening, and tending to her beautiful flowers. She took great pride in decorating her porch for every season and loved spending time with her family.

Marsha is survived by her loving daughters, Ashley (Seth) Worstell and Misty (Jacob) Stiverson, her beloved grandchildren: Dillon Wright, Christian and Payton Stiverson, and Logan Worstell, and one great granddaughter, Delilah Wright, all of Lucasville, four brothers: William “Bill” (Susan) Barnes of Belbrook, Paul (Pam) Barnes of Lucasville, Wayne (Renee) Barnes of Lucasville, Darwin (Jackie) Barnes of Otway, seven sisters: Phyllis Conn of West Union, Rosa Barnes of Lucasville, Camela (Chuck) Smith of Lucasville, Daydra (Albert Breech) Throckmorton of McDermott, Sherry Hiles of Lucasville, Ronda Barnes of Lucasville, Stacey (Logan) Copley of Portsmouth, and many nieces, nephew, cousins and friends. She worked as a cashier in the retail industry and cherished the moments spent outdoors and working with her hands.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jewell Barnes, two brothers, Doug and Jeremy Barnes, and one sister Linda Barnes.

A celebration of Marsha’s life will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the Lucasville Community Bible Church, located at 230 Fairground Road, Lucasville, OH 45648. A gathering will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a service at 2:00 PM. In accordance with Marsha’s wishes, her remains will be cremated at 915 9th Street, Portsmouth, OH 45662.

Marsha’s memory will forever be treasured by those who knew her. She will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty of her garden and the love of those she held dear.
