Mary Patricia Box, lovingly known as Pat, 83, of McDermott, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Concord Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg. She was born in Scioto County on July 16, 1940, to the late Patrick Hacker and Lucy Knittle Hacker. On May 28, 1963, she was united in marriage to Charles Box, who preceded her in death on December 23, 2009.
Pat is survived by her two daughters; Kathy Jo Box of McDermott and Diane (Robert) Spradlin of West Portsmouth; grandson, Chad (Bryanna) Spradlin of West Portsmouth; great grandchildren, Holley and Jameson Spradlin of West Portsmouth and her sister; Carolyn Marshall of Wheelersburg. Pat also had three special friends Adam, Sue, Sarah and the rest of the staff who cared for her at Concord. She also had a special pet named Kitty who she loved.
Pat was a retired clerk of Union Township for several years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #246 of Peebles.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway. Burial will follow in Mt. Joy Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
