A report of a suspicious vehicle parked near the turnaround area of Sohners Lane and Mabert Road turned into absolute chaos when officers responded to the scene to figure out just what was going on.
It all started around 11:40 a.m. when a witness said someone had been sitting in a red car for the past 7 hours.
When officers arrived on the scene, the guy took off. Fortunately, an officer quickly caught up with him. Police read the man his rights, at which point he became unresponsive, and they sent for a squad.
However, he came back around before EMS arrived and officers took him to the Scioto County Jail. The vehicle he was in was listed as missing, so officers made sure to get it back to its rightful owner.
They also summoned Portsmouth City Service to clean up the mess the man made at the scene. Police booked him into the Scioto County Jail for obstructing official business and receiving stolen property.
