A McDermott man suffered a horrible eye injury after he said a man hit him in the face with a roll of quarters.
He contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office early on Mother’s Day to say the attack had occurred overnight and he believed his eye socket was broken.
Dispatch offered to send a rescue squad, but he said he needed to get his daughter ready for the day and would take himself to the hospital.
Officers tried to meet up with him at the hospital, but he’d already left. However, he later called and officers were able to meet up with him to take a report about the assault. The man had a closed mandible orbital wall fracture.
He told deputies he knew the name of his assailant but could not give an exact address for where the incident took place.
