What started as a suspicious call at McDonald’s ended with a traffic stop, a search, and an arrest handled by state troopers.
Officers were called to the McDonald’s after reports of a man sitting in a silver Ford Fusion, allegedly drinking and possibly using drugs in the parking lot. Witnesses provided police with the vehicle’s license plate number.
Pulled Out—Then Pulled Over
By the time officers arrived, the vehicle had already left the McDonald’s lot. A deputy quickly caught up and stopped the car near Citizens Bank, then requested assistance from the Ohio State Patrol to conduct sobriety testing.
Admission and Search
According to police, the driver admitted to drinking and consented to a search of the vehicle.
During the search, officers reported finding:
- A “dab pen” in the man’s front left pants pocket, which the suspect identified
- Another vape pen in the center console of the vehicle
Compliant—but Still Taken In
Officers detained the man without handcuffs, noting he was cooperative and compliant throughout the encounter. An Ohio State Patrol trooper then took the man into custody to handle the case.
No additional details were released about potential charges, but the call serves as a reminder that parking-lot behavior can quickly turn into a roadside investigation—especially when alcohol and drugs are involved.
