Meat Thieves Hit Wheelersburg Kroger

Employees at the Wheelersburg Kroger contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office at 10:45 a.m. to report two female shoplifters had loaded up a basket full of meat and were getting ready to flee the store.

Employees said incidents of this kind have been happening over the past few days. The pair left without their meat haul when officers arrived at the store.

The next day, the store said a scruffy man came into the store and began grabbing 24-packs of tea. The store had previously barred the man. When officers arrived, the man returned the tea and agreed to stay away from the store.

This comes on the heels of a bold shoplifting attempt at the New Boston Walmart that went viral on social media.

Customer phone video captured a woman throwing a cart stuffed with stolen goods into her vehicle before she nearly backed into a New Boston Police squad and fled the scene at a reported 95 miles an hour.

The good Samaritans were able to law enforcement with that bold bandit’s license plate number.
