Melissa Lynn Lowder, 47, of Wheelersburg, died Thursday, June 1, 2023 in Washington Courthouse, as a result of a vehicle accident. She was born June 26, 1975 in Portsmouth, to Charles Stephen and Kathy (Queen) Maggard of Wheelersburg.
Melissa worked as a Nursing Assistant, she loved to gardening and being outdoors.
She is preceded in death by a sister, Trish Maggard, a granddaughter, Aryah Crace, her grandparents, Oral P. Maggard, Arthur and Alma Queen, and her aunts, Connie Phipps and Vivian Steele.
In addition to her parents, Melissa is survived by her three children, Stephen Lowder, Nicholas Crace, and Annie Lowder, all of Wheelersburg, two brothers, Scott Maggard of Wheelersburg and Michael P. Maggard (Amanda Hall) of Wheelersburg, a sister, Debra Maggard (Eric Wagner) of Wheelersburg, and her grandmother Delphia Maggard of Wheelersburg. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Summer, Saylor, Sebastian, and Natalie,two nephews, Sabe Boehm and Johnny Wagner, a niece Kyndell Yates, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday June 6, 2023 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. A visitation for friends and family will be on Monday evening from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., and again on Tuesday, one hour before the service.
