Men Hand Out Fake Money at Kroger
Officers responded to the Kroger on Gay Street for an unusual report just after 7:30 pm on Friday. A caller said multiple men in a Lincoln Navigator were handing out fake money.
By the time officers arrived, the men had left the scene. However, police did impound a fake $50 bill and took information for a report.
It is unknown how many fake bills were distributed. With the police impounding and verifying that they were counterfeit is important for other merchants to know. Be extra vigilant when accepting $50 bills.
