Michael Lynn Mills, 68, of Lucasville, entered into his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at SOMC Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was born to the late Woodrow Alfred and Martha (Nee Adams) Mills on November 8, 1956 in Portsmouth, Ohio.
Michael was a 1975 graduate of Valley High School and a member of the Lucasville Church of Christ and Christian Union. He was a dedicated employee for the State of Ohio for 37 years.
Michael was an avid gardener who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He had a passion for studying his Bible and attending church. He was know by his family for his master bread making skills. Making bread for his family was his favorite pastime.
Michael shared a special love for Crispie Cream donuts with his grandchildren and cherished talking about Buckeye Football with his grandsons.
Michael was proceeded in death by two sisters, Janice Hart and Janie Southworth; three brothers, Donnie Mills, Darrell Mills and David Mills.
He is survived by the love of his life, Tammy (Nee Sloas) Mills, whom he married on May 21, 1977; his beautiful daughters: Jennifer (Joshua) Hobbs of Waverly, Jessica German of Lucasville, and Jillian (Michael) Bentley of Lucasville; seven wonderful grandchildren: Emma Hobbs, Elijah Hobbs, “Mr. Evan Hobbs”, Brooklynn Weeks, Chase Weeks, Hailey German, and Kalynn German; one beloved great grandson, Ryder Weeks; a soon to be grandson-in-law, L.T. Jordan; his mother-in-law, Sylvia Sloas, one brother, Wayne Mills; two sisters, Sheila Chancey and Connie Slark; and special friends, Brad Graham and Randy Hughes.
In honoring Michael’s wishes, cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Lucasville Church of Christ and Christian Union at 2 P.M.
The family wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to brother-in-law, Kent Sloas, and sister-in-law, Darla Sloas, for the love of labor and time that was so graciously given to Michael and his family during his final months.
