Michael Thomas Alexander, 36 of Otway

Michael Thomas Alexander

Michael Thomas “Tommy” Alexander, 36, of Otway, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday,

February 18, 2026, at OSU East Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. He was born March 31, 1989.

Tommy was many things to many people — a devoted husband, a proud father, a beloved son and brother — but above all, he was one of the most loving and caring souls you could ever meet. If you knew Tommy, you knew his heart. He showed up for the people he loved in ways both big and small, and his presence had a way of making others feel at ease.

A 2007 graduate of Piketon High School, Tommy was truly a jack of all trades. Whether he was working with his hands or helping someone solve a problem, he took pride in doing things right and was always willing to lend a hand. He had a natural ability to connect with people and never met a stranger.

Music was one of Tommy’s greatest passions. He loved music and playing guitar, and he brought that same rhythm and energy into everyday life. He could be the life of the party while also being the steady, dependable person someone needed in a difficult moment.

Tommy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Brittany Strawser Alexander of Otway; his daughter, Ryli Alexander of Piketon; his parents, Michael and Marshia Mills Alexander of Piketon; his sister, Jessie MacGregor; his nephews and nieces, RJ and Kathryn MacGregor and Bentley, John and Biscuit Strawser; his father-in-law, Harry Strawser; brother-in-law, Casey (Emily) Strawser; uncles and aunts, Christy (Ed) Burkitt, Carri (Wade) Breitenbach, Ed (Beth) Alexander and Joann Shawver; cousins who were like brothers, Mitchell and Jason Burkitt and Cody and Cable Breitenbach; and many other beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brayden Michael Alexander; his grandparents, Vernon and Barb Alexander and Ted and Joanna Gibson; his chosen uncle, Rick Breitenbach

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly. Burial will follow in Smith Hill Cemetery.
