Mildred Irene Metzler, 90 of South Webster

Mildred Irene Metzler, 90, of South Webster, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 20, 2025. She was born June 05, 1935, in Tannery, KY to the late Forrest Glenn and Lillie Irene (Lewis) Sargent.

Mildred retired as a financial analyst from Southern Ohio Medical Center, where she was respected for her dedication and professionalism. Beyond her career, she found joy in many hobbies. She was an avid collector, a gifted gardener, who loved tending her flowers; partial to lilies, and a talented quilter, crocheter and woodworker.

For many years, Mildred was an active member of the South Webster Fire Department Auxiliary, giving her time and energy in service to her community. Her greatest devotion, however, was to her faith. She was a life-long member of the South Webster Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as church treasurer and participated in many ministries over the years.

Above all, Mildred was a devoted and fiercely protective grandmother who deeply loved her family. Her love ran deep, and her presence will forever be felt in the lives of those she cherished.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Barbara Anne Nelson of Wheelersburg; Brother, Harold Sargent of Canyon Lake, TX; 5 grandchildren, Leigh Ann (Billy) Boggs, Lisa Bates, Zach (Sheila) Bates, Allison (Tom) Sammons and Chad (Andrea) Krekeler, 12 great- grandchildren, Alexandria, Zacaylah, Kaylee, Peyton, Addison, Behrett, Graidy, Lincoln, Jaxon, Audrey, Braxton and Jacob along with her first great -great- grandchild, Tommi.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David Metzler in 2003, a brother, Lloyd Sargent and sister Anna McClintic.

Funeral Service will be held 12 NOON, Friday, October 24, 2025, at the South Webster Baptist Church, 50 Tyrell Street, in South Webster, with Pastor Clyde Willis officiating. Interment to follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.

Family will receive friends Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 5:00- 8:00PM at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in South Webster, and one hour before the funeral on Friday, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Missionary Fund at the South Webster Baptist Church.
