A mom has been arrested after two young children were left in an incredibly dangerous situation in Lawrence County on Saturday.

It all happened at the Speedway gas station in Proctorville, Ohio An officer spotted a man who’d run away from him on Friday. He placed David Woodyard, Jr.under arrest.

When the officer searched Woodyard’s vehicle, he discovered multiple needles, fourteen Xanax pills, and several packages of Suboxone. Suboxone is intended for treating opioid addiction but can also be abused.

Jessica Johnson and her two young daughters were also in the car. The needles were within reach of both of the children

In addition to Woodyard, Jr., Ms. Johnson was also arrested. Woodyard was charged with child endangerment, possession of drugs, and possession of drug abuse instruments. Ms. Johnson was charged with endangering children and possession of drugs. Woodyard and Johnson were taken to the Lawrence County Jail. Lawrence County Child Protective Services was called and the children were later released to family members.
