An upset mom called Portsmouth Police after she said a dispute with her son got out of control just before 9:30 am.
The woman said she and her son argued over rent money, and he choked her.

When officers arrived at the home, the woman said she did not want to file a criminal report. She said she just called the police in an effort to get her money.
Officers spoke to both mother and son, and the woman left the area.
