It seems nobody wanted a man attempting to book a motel room without money in the middle of the night which led to deputies playing taxi service.
At 4:21 am, employees at the Super 8 on US23 said there was a man on the property who refused to leave. When officers got there, the man claimed he had a friend coming down from Columbus to pay for the room.
Employees wanted the man gone, so a deputy gave him a ride to the Four Keys Motel in Portsmouth. That motel didn’t want a guy without room money hanging around in the lobby either, so the officer took the man to Speedway and dropped him off.
