Portsmouth Police received multiple reports of late-night gunshots. The first one came in at 9:17 pm when a man said he heard a gunshot near Ollie’s Burgers and BBQ. An officer responded to the scene within a few minutes, but found nothing suspicious.
At 10:54 pm, a caller reported hearing gunshots at a park and said folks were chasing him. Police checked out both York and Alexandria Parks and found no evidence of suspicious activity.
Just after midnight, officers received another call from a man who said he wasn’t sure where he was but that people were chasing him. He was unsure of his location but said he was on the levee and could see a grain silo and semi-trucks. He also reported he was close to railroad tracks.
An officer checked from Spartan Stadium all the way to Alexandria Park but could not locate the man.
