A wave of panic swept through Wheelersburg as multiple residents flooded 911 with chilling reports of gunfire echoing through the streets. But when deputies arrived, the shooter—or shooters—had vanished without a trace!
It all started just before 9 p.m. when frantic calls came in about shots fired near Green and Beecher Streets. As two sheriff’s units rushed to investigate, even more reports poured in—gunfire was now being heard on Vernon Street. Moments later, more shots were reported near Oak and Granite Streets and then once again on Green Street!
With gunfire seemingly bouncing across town, officers scoured the area, searching for clues or suspects. They even stopped to listen, hoping to catch the mystery shooter in the act—but silence had fallen over Wheelersburg.
As of now, the source of the gunfire remains a mystery. Was it a warning? A shootout? A prank? Deputies are still scratching their heads, and residents are left wondering—who pulled the trigger, and will they strike again?
