A naked man stopped traffic near Long John Silver’s and thieves strip a stolen motorcycle. We hit the highlights of the Portsmouth Police Chief’s Daily Briefing. 

Suspicious Activity

Cussing Out Mom

Police responded to Gilbert Avenue for a report of a 16-year-old girl cussing out her mother and refusing to go to school. 

The girl told the officer she didn’t care about anything. An officer had a long talk with the girl about making better decisions and she said she would try to do better. The officer also advised the mom of her options if the girl doesn’t straighten up.

Assault and Battery

Police responded to a report of a man assaulted by a woman on 6th Street just before 11 am. PFD medics evaluated the man for injuries and he refused further treatment.

The man identified the assailant from a BMV vehicle. 

Hey, That’s My Stuff!

A Gay Street caller said they let a woman spend the night and she stole items from the home before leaving. However, the caller would not supply the woman’s last name to the police. 

Unwanted Guests

Just before 2:30 pm, police responded to a report of people inside a condemned home on Walnut Street. 

Officers discovered the back door had been damaged. They took two men and a woman into custody.

 

Stolen Motorcycle Recovered

Police met up with the owner of a stolen motorcycle on Highland Bend Road. Their bike was recovered but numerous parts were missing and it was not drivable. 

The couple who lived at the home claimed the male half’s brother bought the bike for parts.

Naked Man Spotted Near Long John Silver’s

Just after 3 pm, a caller reported a naked man on top of the levy peeing.  A few minutes later a caller said the man was now at Long John Silver’s.

By the time police arrived on the scene, the man was gone. This man is well known to police and frequently goes on his “Birthday Suit Jogs”

Under the Influence

Just after 6 pm, a caller reported a woman lying on the concrete near the Apostolic Church on Young Street. They said she appeared to be high. A sober man assisted the woman.

A few minutes later a caller reported to apparently high women in a vehicle at the McDonald’s. They were reportedly driving recklessly with a car seat in the vehicle. 

The car was gone by the time police arrived.
