New Residents Stuck with Garbage Filled House
Some new residents got a very unpleasant welcome to Portsmouth. Just before 3 pm, police responded to a report of people arguing in front of a Castle Street house.
When they arrived at the scene, they learned that a family was arguing with their landlord. The family was moving to Portsmouth from New Jersey and had arranged to rent a home.
When they arrived, they found the house a wreck, full of garbage, and not habitable. The family said they were looking for another place to live. An officer provided them with the phone number of a nearby apartment that had a vacancy.
