No Ambulance Available For Woman In Need

A woman experiencing a medical crisis was forced to drive herself to the hospital when no ambulance was available to respond to her on Bennett School House Road.

The woman called in at 11 am complaining of severe abdominal pain and other symptoms. When dispatch tried to get a squad to the scene, they learned Portsmouth Ambulance would take more than twenty minutes to respond and that other local EMS squads were either unavailable or tied up on other calls.

When dispatch informed the woman of the wait, she said she would drive herself to the hospital.
