Nora Christine Tackett, 80, of Piketon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. She was born on December 5, 1943 in Portsmouth to the late Marshall Hammonds and Dorothy Waughtel. In 1964 she was united in marriage to Oba Tackett who preceded her passing on 2010.
Surviving are her children; Tammy Jo Delawder of Piketon, Season (John) Nemeth of Tennessee and Nora Lee (Bill) Byrd of Waverly; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Alice (Tom) Tackett of Waverly. In addition to her husband and parents, Nora was preceded in death by her daughter; Betty Combs; granddaughter, Wendy Alley; brothers John Hammonds, Howard Hammonds and Lee Hammonds; sisters, Helen Edith Wolfe, Tina Gillam and Amanda Rigby and stepfather, Sonny Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home with Bill Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
