In loving memory of our dear Norma Jewell Mershon, a cherished soul who graced this world on May 15, 1925, in Rosemount, Ohio. She was a beacon of light and love, thriving in her role as a devoted homemaker within the walls of her own cherished abode in Rosemount then later at Hillview in Portsmouth.
Norma, a proud alumna of Valley High School, embraced life with a gentle spirit and unwavering determination. She had a profound impact on all who knew her, leaving a legacy of kindness and grace in her wake. A dedicated member of the Valley Methodist Church and Lucasville Eastern Star #495, Norma’s presence was a source of comfort and inspiration to many.
Norma met her beloved Oscar in 1949, she shared many joyous years with him until his passing in 1991. Her nurturing spirit flourished through her son Mark, daughter-in-law Debbie, three adored grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, and four special nieces who inherit her enduring love and wisdom. Along with Oscar, she was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Sally (Nee Davis) McCall.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28th, 12 Noon to 1:00 PM, and Funeral services following at 1:00 PM, all at FC Daehler Mortuary, 915 Ninth Street in Portsmouth, Ohio, where loved ones will gather to pay their respects. Her final resting place will be in Lucasville Cemetery. The service will be presided over by Gary Hopkins. Norma’s spirit will forever soar, as a testament to a life well-lived and a heart full of love.
