North Carolina Teen Forced to Bury Little Sister in Backyard

A “mother” in North Carolina insisted that her daughter (13) help her bury her little sister (4) in the backyard of their home.

Malikah Bennett, 31, was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree child abuse, injury to a child, and concealing a death.

In addition, Tammy Taylor Moffett, 53, who is Bennett’s mother, was arrested and charged with concealing a death and accessory to murder after the fact.

At this point, we have:

  1. Mom kills daughter.
  2. Mom makes the other daughter bury her.
  3. Grandma knows and did nothing.

Miegellic “Jelli” Young’s body was discovered buried outside her mother’s Charlotte, North Carolina home.

As punishment for soiling her pants, Miegellic’s mother made her stand in the laundry room for three days, according to reports. The 13-year-old sister reported that when she was too weak to stand, she fell out the back door and hit her head. She told police Bennett gave CPR to the child, but she died.

The body of Miegellic was placed into two black plastic trash bags in the trunk of the family vehicle, where it was left for five days until the odor became unbearable.

Bennett proceeded to drive the vehicle carrying the dead child to a local store to buy a shovel. A 13-year-old girl was forced to pick up her dead sister and place it in the ground after the mom was finished digging the hole.
