Not Again! Roaming Packs of Dogs Trapped Residents in Their Own Homes

We told you earlier in the week about a Portsmouth woman who was forced to scramble on top of her vehicle to escape an attacking dog; now, another woman found herself cornered by looks animals.

A S. Preston Street resident called 911 to say she was attempting to leave her home, but three pit bulls on her porch were blocking her way. The 911 operator noted they could hear the dogs barking.

When a deputy arrived at the home, there was still one dog in the driveway. The woman explained that the animals belonged to her neighbor, and this was an ongoing issue. The officer advised her to contact the Scioto County Dog Warden.

Later in the day, a Lick Run Lyra Road resident called 911 to report a pack of loose dogs had trapped her and her children in their home. She said the dogs were aggressive and had prevented her kids from going into their own yard.

Officers searched the area for the dogs but could not locate them.

Readers have expressed frustration with numerous incidents involving loose dogs around the county, “This is so sad and literally neglect on owners part. Pit bulls are not bad dogs a lot of owners just suck”

“This is sad. Alot of people don’t care what their animals do. I’m an animal lover, I’m also little, all it takes is a 20lb dog to jump on me and I’m hurt. Can’t get this through to some people. They don’t always have to bite to hurt someone.”
